Treasurer
Brief info

With a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1970, I have dedicated over 51 years to the electrical industry, serving as Vice President, Estimator, Project Manager, and Designer at Essexville Electric Inc., ESCON Group, and Southeastern Electric. As a Master Electrician and Licensed Electrical Contractor, my expertise extends beyond the business realm.

My journey with Michigan Trout Unlimited began in 2008, where I initially assumed the roles of secretary and treasurer of the council. Over the years, I played a pivotal role in Michigan TU's development, co-creating the Michigan TU Development Plan in 2012 and establishing the Michigan Trout Unlimited Aquifer Club. Serving as the council Chairman in 2013-14, I currently hold the positions of council Treasurer and actively contribute to the Development Committee.

In 2017, I was elected as the TU Michigan NLC Representative and took charge as the Chairman of the Great Lakes Workgroup. Under my leadership, the workgroup published "A Case for the Great Lakes," shedding light on the various threats facing this vital ecosystem.

Beyond Trout Unlimited, I have been an active member of the Headwaters Land Conservancy Board since 2015, where I serve as Treasurer and currently hold the position of Vice Chairperson.

In my free time, I indulge in my passions for fly fishing, fly tying, and rowing drift boats. I contribute to stream restoration projects, engage in reading historical fiction, novels, and fishing magazines, and enjoy log cabin restoration and woodworking projects.

I owe a significant part of my success to my wife, Chrissy, who is undoubtedly the hardest-working conservationist in our family. Her unwavering support and tolerance for my commitment to cold water conservation initiatives have played a crucial role in our collective efforts.

My ultimate passion is dedicated to the preservation of cold waters, and I remain committed to the cause.
